Archery Fun Shoots

DCWC will host one Archery Fun Shoot each month of the calendar year.

A normal Fun Shoot usually consists of bits and pieces of all archery games available here at DCWC. Fun shoots are geared toward beginning and intermediate archers.

All yardages are shortened up from the normal tournament distances.

This is a great opportunity to come out and try archery for the first time!

DCWC has a nice assortment of beginner level archery equipment for people to use.

There are several Genesis, recurve and compound bows.

This equipment is available for a nominal rental fee.

This equipment is for persons to use on first come first served basis.

We can supply the bows and a great place to enjoy archery.

We ask that you please try to supply your own arrows.

Arrows must be able to be shot from a 35 – 40lbs bow (Arrow spine or stiffness).

Arrows may be available for purchase at the club. Ask an Archery Committee Member

And, just to get you started, brief archery lessons are available to anyone who needs them.

· Score cards are supplied with shooting and scoring directions on them. You can keep score, but no score cards are turned in - unless you’re bragging, of course! We are shooting just for fun.

· Shoot as much as you like. You don't even have to finish the established course of targets.

· Targets are set up between 5 and 50 yards with mid-range stakes set on the longer shots. The mid range stakes are for less experienced archers because we don’t want people shooting past their capabilities. This is a safety precaution.

Safety is always DCWC #1 priority.

· Persons who use any equipment provided at the shoots will be responsible for it by paying replacement value costs if they lose or damage any equipment.

Archery Fun Shoots may be canceled due to poor weather.

Please call the DCWC Range Closure Hotline at (919) 361-1839 for shoot cancellation notification before coming out.
