Shooting Ranges: 1 combo skeet/trap 1 combat area (pit) with MANY pepper-poppers 1 combo pistol/rifle range to 200 meters This range was set up for IHMSA matches, and has low rails at 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 & 200 meters. Sanford, NC 27330 Location: Northern Outskirts of Sanford Directions: US 1 south to Colon Rd, then left (toward Sanford) past the brick plant to Riddle Road. Left on Riddle for a few hundred yards, and the road to the range is marked with the IHMSA Ram. There is also a 'San-Lee Gun Club' sign on Colon Road at the intersection of Riddle Road that displays the IHMSA Ram logo. Membership: Initiation fee of $60.00, $40.00 per year membership. Membership is currently capped, a waiting list is maintained NRA Membership required. Non-Members Information: Members may bring guests. Other information: Bare-bones 'Place To Shoot'. Clay Pigeons are available to members on an honor pay system, otherwise it is wise to bring your own targets, and perhaps even target stands that do not require staking in the ground. Some MAY be around, but... There are PLENTY of 'knock-em-down' pepper-poppers at the combat pit for PISTOL shooting only.

The RWVA is a CMP-affiliated club.
They hold regular 500-yd Highpower Rifle Matches on the first Saturday
of each month, starting at noon.Regular rifle marksmanship clinics and shooting schools are
scheduled throughout the year. Info can be found under "articles" at
http://www.fredsm14stocks.com"Frequent military rifle shoots are held on the popup silhouette
targets. Regular dates are Memorial Monday and July 4th. as well as New Year's
Day. Other dates usually fall on the third Sat of each month when there is
not a rifle marksmanship clinic or long-range or rapid-fire rifle school.

Directions: From Raleigh, follow US 401 North towards Louisburg. About 100 yards north of G&B Auto Sales, (a used car lot), turn right onto E.F. Cottrell Rd. About 1/8th mile later turn right at the next "T" intersection onto Otis Burrows Rd. Follow this road about about 3/4 mile. A small SSI sign is on the right at a dirt driveway, (Sometimes it's not easy to see). Follow the dirt driveway, (observe the speed limit signs please), through the yard, between the white house on the left and the two mobile homes on the right, and down to the locked cattle gate. (You must be an active SSI member or a guest of an active SSI member to enter the range). Membership: $140 / year Associate membership (not guaranteed renewable). Stock holding memberships may be available. Non-Members Information: Members may bring guests. Other information: Bare-bones 'Place To Shoot'. Best to bring your own targets, cardboard backing, and perhaps even target stands that do not require staking in the ground. Some wood stands may be around, but... Class III weapons are allowed (full auto fire allowed only on pistol ranges) but theowner must be able to show the range safety officer the proper federal tax stamps, etc.

LocationThe Center is located at 3921 Old Holly Springs - Apex Road, 2.5 miles south of the intersection of State Highway 55 and Holly Springs Road/New Hill Road, which is 4.3 miles east of US 1. From that intersection, proceed 1.1 miles south on New Hill Road, then bear right on Old Holly Springs - Apex Road for 1.4 miles. The building is on the right. A Map to the Center is available here for your convenience. HoursThe Center is open to the public on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM; and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Hours of operation will expand as public demand requires. Telephone number is 919-303-0851 during open hours only.. LayoutThe public section of the indoor range has three bays. Bay 2 has nine positions for standing pistol shooting at distances from fifteen feet to fifty yards. Bay 3 has nine concrete benches for pistol or rifle shooting, seated or standing, at distances up to fifty yards. Bay 4 has eight concrete benches for pistol or rifle at fifty yards or one hundred yards. Bay 1 is reserved for law enforcement use. Range Card RequirementsTo obtain a range card, shooters must complete a two-hour firearms safety and range orientation session and pass an open-book written test with a score of at least 80%. Cost of a range card is $15 for Wake County residents and $25 for residents of other counties. This fee includes orientation session, range card and the first hour of range time. Thereafter, range time is $10 for Wake County residents and $15 for non - Wake County residents. Replacement range cards will cost $5. | ||
Safety All firearms brought into the building must be unloaded and contained in a case or box. Firearms may be removed from cases or boxes only at an assigned firing station, unless for inspection by a Range Safety Officer (RSO). Eyesight and hearing protection is required while shooting. Firearms safety rules and range procedures will be strictly enforced. Penalties for rules violations will range from RSO correction of minor errors to permanent expulsion from the Center. Unruly behavior will not tolerated and could result in the arrest of that person. Sales and RentalsSafety glasses, earplugs and earmuffs may be purchased or rented at the range, along with targets, spotting scopes, rifle and pistol rests, chronographs and bore sighting devices. A limited variety of the most popular ammunition is available for sale. Purchase prices for all items will be in line with prices charged by local gun shops. StaffAll range personnel are National Rifle Association of America Certified Range Safety Officers. Staffing of the range is provided by Sir Walter Shooting Services, Inc.
